Worship and Prayer
We see Worship primarily as giving glory to God and through this transforming us and empowering us to be an outward-looking church.
Our vision is to be a church that consistently offers inspiring and creative services of Worship and the Word, which connect with everyday life. This embraces the more traditional forms of worship together with more contemporary informal worship gatherings.
To worship at St Andrew’s will be to enjoy a rich experience of prayer, music, silence, liturgy, modern media and the arts. At the centre will be a shared encounter with God as Trinity through Word and Sacrament.
We see Prayer as central to our life as a community of faith. We have a Prayer Coordinator who helps us set our daily/weekly Prayer Dairy, which is supplemented by our deanery and diocesan prayer diaries.
Morning Prayer is said on a daily basis apart from Thursdays when there is a morning service of Holy Communion and on Sundays when the whole church is gathered for worship and prayer.
We believe that through Prayer transformation takes place.
